Pratham Madlani, the 14th seed from Vadodara, registered a thrilling comeback aganist third seed Arman Shaikh at the 1st Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament which is ongoing from May 2 to May 5. In a pre-quarterfinal match, he came back from a deficit and secured a 3-2 victory.
The 19-year-old talent, hailing from Vadodara, continued his winning streak with a 3-1 win over his city mate Jalay Mehta in the quarterfinals, securing a spot in the semis.
In other matches, top seed Akshit Salva advanced to the semi-finals with a 3-1 victory over Monish Dedhia of Ahmedabad. Surat’s Taksh Kothari defeated sixth seed Dwij Bhalodia of Ahmedabad in the boys’ U-17 pre-quarterfinals but couldn’t maintain momentum, losing in the quarters to third seed Abhilaksh Patel of Ahmedabad.
