Balla: Approval Granted for Interconnection Protocol of Identification Schemes in the Western Balkans

"The Council of Ministers approved today the protocol for the interconnection of identification schemes, which facilitates the inclusion of citizens in the free labor market in the Western Balkans.

In the media conference following the government meeting, Interior Minister Taulant Balla said, "the government has approved the continuation of implementing the agreements we have signed with the Western Balkan countries, with a focus on the Open Balkans."

"Today we have approved the protocol for the interconnection of identification schemes, so that through a Western Balkans identification number, all citizens and all identification schemes are interconnected, facilitating inclusion in the labor market for each of the signatory countries' citizens," he said.

According to Balla, this will strengthen the implementation of the agreement and increase the integration of labor markets in Western Balkan countries.

Balla announced that the government has also prepared a draft law, which will immediately pass to the Parliament for approval through an accelerated procedure, for the European Interpol conference to be held in Tirana.

"As we have announced, in June, the European Interpol Conference will be held in Tirana, bringing the highest officials of the Interior Ministries of all European countries to Albania," he said.

Balla assessed this as "an important moment for the good work of the Police in the fight against crime," emphasizing that this meeting will further enhance the excellent cooperation that Albania has with Interpol."
