Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.90% or 0.715 points to trade at 25.340 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (MC:ACX) added 2.55% or 0.315 points to end at 12.650 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 1.94% or 0.655 points to 34.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE), which fell 3.73% or 0.710 points to trade at 18.300 at the close. Inditex (MC:ITX) declined 1.95% or 0.625 points to end at 31.470 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was down 1.52% or 0.375 points to 24.355.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 90 to 79 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 6.37 to $1276.87 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $54.33 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.31 to trade at $60.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1627, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8761.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.60.
